The China corn price continued another week of decline as the spring harvest of corn entered the market and reinforced supplies in the south, while traders in the north-east region were eager to sell to clear old stocks. The corn future price was up by 1.5% wow. Soybean futures edged up 0.8% wow on average due to bad weather forecasts in crop-growing areas. The future price of soybean oil rebounded 11.8% wow due to demand increasing in replenishment for the upcoming double national holidays. Milk/milk powder. Retail prices for both domestic infant milk powder and adult milk powder dropped 0.1% wow, while yogurt retail prices edged down 0.2% wow. Retail prices for fresh milk continued to increase and were up 0.1%, while the domestic infant milk powder price remained stable. Meat. Live hog prices were unchanged due to the mixed effects of tight pig release and weak demand. Piglet prices rose by 1.5% wow as farmers showed enthusiasm for replenishment in preparation for releases during the Spring Festival. Chicken retail prices edged up 0.1% wow, while the egg retail price increased 0.6% wow. Vegetables/fruits. Vegetable prices rose by 2% wow on average, among which cucumber and green beans were up 15.2% and 6.7%, respectively, as some vegetables are undergoing their rotation period, thus reducing the market supply. The average fruit price rebounded slightly by 0.9% wow.
