if you using ods tagset.excel xp, you need make the file name test.xml. and open with excel. any other suffix will cause the warning message as you mentioned in the 1st post. anyway you need change the file name, so you can change sas created xml file to a new excel name.
it's just my thought, not tested. because i am using SAS EG, and our administrator do not allow me using DDE.
