Val Morrison is a chartered health psychologist and lecturer at the University of Wales Bangor.She has written over 50 research publications, co-edited Working with Women and AIDS, published by Routledge, and has contributed chapters to several books, including the Handbook of the Clinical Psychology of Ageing 2nd edition.
Paul Bennett is professor of clinical health psychology at the University of Wales Swansea and headof the local National Health Clinical Psychology Services.He has written over 100 publications, and four other books, including An Introduction to Clinical Health Psychology, and Psychology and Health Promotion (with Simon Murphy), by Oxford University Press.
Health psychology is the study of psychological and behavioral processes in health, illness, and healthcare.It is concerned with understanding how psychological, behavioral, and cultural factors contribute to physical health and illness. By understanding psychological factors that influence health, and constructively applying that knowledge, health psychologists can improve health by working directly with individual patients or indirectly in large-scale public health programs.
