It contains the broadest range of leading-edge statistical tools in an easy-to-use package, underpinned by its powerful and flexible high-level programming language. GenStat has been developed at the Rothamsted Experimental Station where many of the statistical techniques still in use today were first discovered.
The current version of the software is GenStat for Windows 8th Edition.

(AS Reml tools are also available in GenStat, and as a separate bolt-on module ‘SAMM’ for use in the S-Plus™ statistical package by MathSoft, Inc.)
