We are anindependent asset management organization looking for an individual able tobuild an analysis tool that integrates the historical prices of securities withcalculations based on mathematical formulas.
The software that is under development has various uses in themanagement of investment portfolios.
Thepurpose of this software is as a tool to assist in asset allocation, tradediscovery and trade setup.
A version ofthis tool has already been built but is not complete.
What we are looking for is someone who canunderstand the existing code and expand the functionality.
Simply speaking, this is software whichblends time-series data with mathematical operations and does not require a fancyUI.
Since the deadline is late February,this position can start immediately but is only for approximately onemonth.
Based on performance, thisposition can extend until March 8.
Inaddition, we will be looking for a full-time programmer/developer startingmid/late April, so applicant can be considered for position beginning in Aprilas well.

Requirements:

• Advancedknowledge of .NET framework & Visual Basic
• ASP.NET, C++/C# and object-orienteddesign a plus
• Strong skills in working with large datasets through SQLqueries and an understanding of data modeling logical diagrams required
• Working knowledge of statistical or modeling packages such as SAS or Matlab and/or quantitative research systems helpful
• Sound programming logic, creative problem-solving skills, and excellent documentationhabits are necessary
• A professional, detail-oriented, and energetic personality with the abilityto work and thrive in an entrepreneurial and team environment. Must be willingto take direction, but also share ideas and feedback in a professional andcourteous manner


Thesuccessful candidate will work with large datasets and translate userrequirements and needs into programming or technical specifications andrecommend solutions. You will face interesting challenges and be counted on tocreatively determine how best to get your job done. You must value the freeexchange of ideas, soliciting critical feedback to make your work better, and,above all, finding the best solution to the challenge at hand.

1 month(Jan. to late Feb.), full-time, immediate start
