Communicate in a downturn. It sounds reasonable, but may be difficult to carry out. Workers and directors stand in different positions. At a downturn, what workers care about is mostly about work security and high salary, while directors want to be conservative and gather strength. There are irreconcilable contradictions, which, if not dealt with correctly and cautiously, may break out and lead to strikes, sit-ins or even riots, more harmful to the whole economy, not to say the enterperise owners.
Sometimes,  maybe more practically, covering up some bad news and releasing the encouraging information, which sounds good to the workers, may be helpful.
Simplicity means low cost and may lead to not so serious results.
Of course, the opinion is somewhat far from present management theory and may be contradict to the democracy thought. But in management, good initiative may not bring about good result every time.
And from a minor position, when meeting with difficulties, I don't want others talk too much to me. I want to stay alone and think about them quietly and carefully. Let two irritated persons to communicate, the most possible result is quarrel and fight, at least, a feeling of high blood pressure and no happiness.
