1. at [in] the beginning 起初，在开始时。如：
He disliked it at [in] the beginning. 他开始时不喜欢它。
In [At] the beginning I lived next to her. 开始我住在她隔壁。
2. at the beginning of 在……之初，在……开始时。如：
She left here at the beginning of this month. 她是本月初离开这儿的。

注：有时也用介词 in, 但不如用介词 at 普通。如：
