在11月13日的《人民币本月末能否加入SDR货币篮子？》的讨论已经在11月30日揭晓（北京时间1号凌晨公布），人民币纳入SDR。
国际货币基金组织(IMF)于当地时间11月30日在华盛顿召开执董会会议决定将人民币纳入特别提款权（SDR）货币篮子。SDR货币篮子相应扩大至美元、欧元、人民币、日元、英镑5种货币，人民币在SDR货币篮子中的权重为10.92%，美元、欧元、日元和英镑的权重分别为41.73%、30.93%、8.33%和8.09%，新的SDR篮子将于2016年10月1日生效。

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the IMF, stated:
“The Executive Board's decision to include the RMB in the SDR basket is an important milestone in the integration of the Chinese economy into the global financial system. It is also a recognition of the progress that the Chinese authorities have made in the past years in reforming China’s monetary and financial systems. The continuation and deepening of these efforts will bring about a more robust international monetary and financial system, which in turn will support the growth and stability of China and the global economy.”（摘自IMF官网）

新的SDR篮子将于2016年10月1日生效，也就是说2016年10月1日推出新SDR一篮子货币体系将为该基金提供充足的时间，其成员和其他特别提款权用户适应这些变化。
