The point is working in Corporate Finance, M&A or as ppl called it Investment Banking, fresh Graduates barely get a chance to work for them unless you have experience in "big 4" or you have strong commercial or political background- ur father must be Li Gang or sb has more power control I have to say. The business is shrinking I would say for the Bulge Bracket. Due to the fact that there are more and more boutique firms in the market now and the Big 4 has expanded their business in the area. I would say working in the structured group would be ideal for a quant fresh grad. Being a trader, you have to have tons of practical experience of trading in the market, I mean tons. I knew a guy working for Goldman Sachs and JPM as a trader in London, he graduated from Manchester University with a BSc Economics, be4 he graduated he had already had substantial experience on trading IPO stocks and enlarged his assets by 18 times. Jus give you guys some examples and don't dream just work as hard as you can.
