'Probability for risk manegment' and its practices solution are the best material for anyone like me without any background in actuary. These two books guided me systermatically from the basic definations to major mathematic probability modles. And they are also the most popular textbooks for most american exam takers. I finished all the practice questions in this textbook and found out it guided me directly to the practice exam level. Before that, I have already went over the ASM manual for this exam, but found out all the practice exams were still confused because of my limited (almost none) background knowledge in actuary. Finally this book lead me out from these difficulties.
TIA practice exams are another major materials I recommend strongly at here. The ASM practices exams are much harder than the real exam, while the TIA's are much helpful. Make sure you have done all the past exam sample questions posted on SOA website. That is another very useful and time saving way for you to pass the exam.
Good luck for eveyone who are courage enough to face a new field!
