Siding with the Republicans, the Democrats voiced general approval Monday for a shortterm bill that prevents a government shutdown, AP reported. US President Barack Obama's 2011 budget proposed last October hasn't been passed by the congress, meaning current funding of the government will expire shortly. The government funds are due to run out on March 4 which may cause a government shutdown.
据美联社报道，为避免联邦government被关闭，2月28日，美国民主党与共和党达成妥协，通过了一项短期缓冲法案。美总统奥巴马于去年10月提出的2011财政预算一直未获国会通过，这意味着现有的government经费只够用到本月4日，届时若两党仍争执不下，government恐被关闭。

The last time a US government shutdown was in 1995's Clinton administration. During the phase, government officials, staff in the defense department and in a few other key departments excluded, will be given leave without pay and will be forced to go home.
