Head 是“头”，heels 是“脚跟”，最开始的词组其实是 heels over head，脚跟高过头，就是一种“眩晕，天翻地覆的状态”，在之后的使用中，这个词组演变成了 head over heels，就用来指 very much in love, 非常相爱的一种状态，爱得神魂颠倒。
