Welcome to Prof. HO Lok Sang
Lok-Sang Ho, President of the Hong Kong Economic Association, a warm welcome. Professor Lok-Sang Ho, a recognized expert on Hong Kong and public policy and currently President of the Hong Kong Economic Association, has research interests covering international monetary and financial issues, health economics, housing, social security, labour markets, economics of law and public order, and macroeconomics. His recent year 2000 article in The World Economy pointed out the need for a world unit of account that offers stable value, arguing that the availability and the use of such a unit of account will make our financial markets more stable and efficient. Another paper, published also in 2000 in Policy Sciences, explained how wage subsidies can be used as an efficient redistributive tool, enhancing employment and reducing income inequality at the same time. Professor Ho's other publications are in such journals as Contemporary Economic Policy, Urban Studies, Regional Studies, Social Science and Medicine, Journal of Socio Economics, Pacific Economic Review, Asian Economic Journal, and Industrial and Labor Relations Review. Professor Ho is the author of Principles of Public Policy Practice (Kluwer Academic Publishers).
