Political Economy and Green Innovation
Aims & Scope:
Political economy is an important branch of economics. Its several importantschools such as international political economy and new political economy canhelp master the specific theories of economic construction, and betterunderstand the international relations, national economic policies and nationaleconomic system in today’s world. Sustainable development and transition to agreen economy have become the recognized mode of economic development in theworld, and green innovation is an important driving force to promotesustainable development and green economy transition. From a macro perspective,green innovation is of great significance to improve the environment andachieve sustainable development. From the micro point of view, green innovationis also an important way for enterprises to improve production efficiency andenhance core competitiveness. In the absence of government intervention, thedevelopment of green innovation is likely to be limited by under-investment dueto multiple market failures. Policy instruments, international relations, andgovernment efficiency may be factors that affect green innovation. It is vitalto explore the theory and practice of political economy and green innovation topromote green innovation development and green economic growth in the currentcontext of complex and severe international situation and increasingly volatileinternational relations.
Therefore, this special issue is aimed atpromoting research broadly related to political economy and green innovation.The exploration of the internal relationship between political economy andgreen innovation are expected to have a profound impact on the internationaleconomy, political economy, green economy, innovative development and otherfields.
The theme of this Special issue (SI) is“Political Economy and Green Innovation”. All types (empirical and theory) ofpapers on this theme are welcomed. The special issue especially welcomes(including but not limited to) topics in the following fields:
