似乎很多人都认为TRADER只是机械的执行命令~对TRADER很不耻...

LTCM倒闭前拥有强大的团队，两名诺贝尔经济学奖获得者Myron Scholes & Robert Merton,

一名前联邦储备体系副主席David Mullins还有一名华尔街成功的债券交易员John Meriwether

但尽管拥有那么完美的模型却还是倒闭了？WHY？

在零和或者说是负和游戏里面没有固定的赢利模型...

看上是肤浅的提问，导出了有水平的讨论，有意思。

LTCM的资产在到期的时候是可以赢利的,之所以倒闭是因为在资产持有期内发生反向的波动,使得保证金不足.

I don't know what you mean by a leading indicator and how to define one. For my portfolio, I have an expected return and a volatility directly from my model. I also have in-sample return and volatility. Similarly I have out-of-sample return and volatility as well. So maybe I call my model return and volatility leading indicators?

最近看了一个trader workshop的内容。介绍了很多trading system，bloomberg的。据说都有数据和excel的接口。

有什么哥们对这个了解的吗？

具体bloomberg的这个不了解,但基本可以肯定是,现在的主要都是数据平台,可以构件 automatic trading system .但 trading model都要你自己的,如果要别人的,有,应该不是 bloomberg/reuter etc. Financial Data Service Providers 的，是其它专门的 vendors的,strategies for sale 的,包括我上面(2楼)的 Ricky 的 RC system.一般的 Financial Data Provider 都有 interface 包括跟 Excel,甚至 API.

香港Rickey 是算上亚洲公开搞automatic trading比较早和知名人事(不公开的无法查证).这是根据美国几家评估公司的结果.据我个人实地调查，香港,包括银行,以香港base搞automatic trading 如果有,也应该不多. 我没发现. 当然个人信息来源有限.有知道的朋友请告知.

我对 trading system 和 system trading 特别感兴趣,instrument 主要在 FX/futures/CFD etc.看看还有没有志同道合的朋友.

嗯，我们从前用的3000 xtra，但是是dealing 2000，不是和3000 xtra集成的，dealing 3000是集成的。这个市场是被路透和彭博垄断的。

能有明确的，可定义的交易model的话，用这些没有什么太大的难度。边搞边查就可以了，还有 service providers 都会不断改进，使其简单化，并提供技术支持。

这东西始终最难搞的还是金融上的问题，是 stretegy 的产生，设计，测试，实施，监控等的问题。

嗯，确实是。玫瑰猴在哪里做？commission，bid-offer spread，slippage，short sale contraint，interest rollover都怎么样。

CFD(contract for difference) is hot and interesting.

commission/spread/interest etc. all depend on various factors but what i am sure is that they are low enough and there are not really any short sell constrains. take an example, say,commission=0, FX spread=4-5pts,and interestingly, y can get leverage up to at least 100 times if not 400.

as far as i know, CFD, as a kind of deviratives, is not allowed to be operated inside U.S. yet, but quite popular in Britain/Australia/Canada.i mainly go with CMC Australia on short term trading at this stage. but before talking platforms/Vendors, as i said, short term trading model is still my main concern at the moment. i am sure i will have a  comparison list of most popular vendors at a later stage, which will incl. automatizable ones.

for the mid to long term investments, i have been using Fidelty/JF for more than 10 yrs.

currently i am also condidering E-Trade(HK) for ETF trading study.

至于我需要什么具体的资料嘛，我现在实在没什么需要的。香港一般的Capital Management 公司，也不过是找些客人的钱来运作一下，收管理费。一是如何吹，二是如何拉客找钱，差不多就是主要工作了。

我特别想在计算机对金融数据处理上做点我兴趣的事情，由于我不是科班出身，所以，如果在今后的交流中，各位朋友能在专业上给予指教和提示，我就很高兴了。

前段时间，我碰到的理论问题，参考：

通过这论坛，我找到了 Ralph Vince 关于 Money Management/Position Sizing 的论述的书后，应该很好地解决了。现在碰到的是，我始终认为，对 trading strategy(model/system) ，除了irvingy 朋友也提到过的几个参数以外，应该有一个比较全面的评估 framework 才对, 但我始终不得要领。也没找到相应的，比较系统的论文，只有些零散的文章。这是我目前最头痛的。希望各位高手有什么思路或文章，推荐给小弟学习学习。
