看国外某篇文献时遇到一个疑惑百思不得其解，
原文如下：“Sales Growth(GS) is the change in net sales divided by prior-year net sales. Sales growth GS/10 is the decile of the firm's sales growth in the prior year relative to NYSE firm's decile breakpoints.”
前半句很好理解，是销售增长率的定义，但后半句GS/10的定义我就看不明白了，何为relative to NYSE firm's decile breakpoints？

另外作者在统计性描述里给出的此指标的描述性统计如下：

                            N            Mean        SD         MIN       MAX
GSt-1(Decile)   1,529,508    5.94         3.16         1          10  

从最大最小值来看该指标应该是10分数数值，最小为1最大为10，但这个指标作者到底是如何构建的？因为毕业论文需要涉及处理这方面的数据，所以很急，不知道论坛上各位达人有没有遇到过类似问题，盼赐教！
