总之，蔡洪滨如此少的论文引用数根本不能说明他的“国际学术贡献是广泛而深远。”光华主页上对蔡洪滨的瞎吹是无稽之谈。目前，国内高校还只关心经济大类发SSCI论文。至于所发论文的引用率，还根本来不及注意。这也可以原谅，论文都发不出来，何必奢谈引用率。但对蔡洪滨，我们必须从国际视野来看，因为他本来就是从UCLA来到北大的，而且还混到了Econometric Society的会士。尤其重要的是，我们许多人的引用率都在全世界经济学者的前5%了。

但是，蔡洪滨要赶上邹恒甫老师的引用率是不可能的。邹老师在无名气的期刊《review of development economics》里发的一文就有355个引用，比蔡洪滨在JPubE和AER两篇最多引用加起来还多。有时，高引用率并不一定要在好期刊，邹老师的论文说明了此点，了不起！

网易财经3月23日讯 美国联邦储备系统(FED)圣路易斯分行所属的一个名为IDEAS的经济研究机构每月公布了一份全球3.1万名经济学家的排名。本月排在这份名单前5%的顶级经济学家中，拥有中国（含华裔）的经济学家共有14人。其中哥伦比亚大学金融学教授魏尚进、中央财经大学中国经济与管理研究院学术委员会联合主任邹恒甫、哥伦比亚大学经济学教授白聚山、俄亥俄州大学教授李龙飞、南加州大学教授肖政在14人中排在前五。
此外，香港中文大学教授郎咸平排名在939位，世界银行首席经济学家林毅夫排名在1173位。
值得注意的是，排在名单中前5%的经济学家共有1568人，华裔经济学家入围数量尚不足百分之一。
这份排名是根据所调查经济学者的学术论文发表数量以及被引用转载次数等指标计算分值而成的，调查截止时间为2012年2月。需要注意的是，仅在美国经济学研究论丛（REPEC）注册的经济学者和在REPEC上所列出的论文才会被予以考虑。
