Motivation
The financial crisis in 2009 has brought to the fore the new challenge of knowledge
and innovation management in a turbulent context. For both small and large
corporations in China, questions like how to coordinate local manufacturing activities
with changing world market, or how to manage tacit and codified knowledge
circulation in aglobal business community, have never been so significant by now.
Against this background, the First International Workshop on Innovation Management
and KnowledgeNetwork intends to provide an opportunity for communication of
scholars,industrialists, and entrepreneurs interested in improving their research and
development, andbusiness applications in innovation management and knowledge
sharing.
Topics
As one part of the Fourth International Conference on Business Intelligence and
Financial Engineering (BIFE 2012), The First International Workshop on Innovation
Management and Knowledge Network will create a platform for idea discussion and
knowledgecommunication. The aim of this special session is to present the recent
practice, studiesand explorations in this field. Both theoretical and practical

Important Dates
Deadline for paper submission ------ April15, 2012
Notification of acceptance ------ April25, 2012
Deadline for camera-ready manuscript submission ------ May 25, 2012
All the submittedpapers should be in English, using the IEEE two-column template,
include all tables,figures and references (http://www.gip.hk/bife2012/submission.htm).
All papers must besubmitted electronically in WORD or PDF format and be mailed to
address: lgong@re.ecnu.edu.cn with the subject of “IMKN 2012 Submission”.
Publications
Submitted papersshould not have been previously published nor be currently under
consideration forpublication elsewhere. All accepted workshop papers will be included in
ConferenceProceedings if they have paid for registration fee. Furthermore, the workshop
organizers canrecommend the extended versions of some selected high-quality workshop
papers to someinternational journals.
