audience[':dins] n.(演讲、音乐会等)听众；(剧院、影院等)观众； (某作家)读者，读者大众audience 为集合名词，作主语时若强调是集体，则谓语动词用单数；若强调个体，谓语动词则用复数，类似词还有family ,class ,team ,population等。

注意：修饰audience通惯用big，large,huge,以及small,thin等形容词，不用many，few修饰。表示详细数量用“数词+audience”。
