D.E. Shaw (I mean both himself and his company named after him) is really something. However, this was a paper dated back 1979 when relational database like SQL had not yet been born. Moreover, you can view it for free using the following link or simply google "A Relational Database Machine Architecture, David Elliot Shaw". I have totally no idea why somebody is charging 8 coins for this, maybe for the new word "Arthiteeture" (which does not exist) instead of the original "Architecture"?
