李志文，男，本科受业于台湾大学，于1966年获商学学士学位；旋服一年少尉预备军官役，完役后就读台大经济研究所，于1970年获得硕士学位，同年赴美，入罗澈斯特大学经济博士班，于1977年获得学位。他的学术著作百余篇发表于会计、经济、财务、统计的世界顶尖学术杂志。是中国教育部特聘“世界著名学者讲座”，创办浙江大学商学研究院并任院长，是清华大学经管学院特聘教授。他还曾在美、欧、亚、澳及拉美五大洲17个国家及地区讲学。

洪永淼现任美国康奈尔大学经济学系终身教授，厦门大学王亚南经济研究院（WISE）院长，厦门大学经济系主任，厦门大学“长江学者”讲座教授。根据国际权威计量经济学期刊Econometric Theory所做的“世界计量经济学家排名：1989-2005”，洪永淼教授在1989-2005期间名列第15位（洪永淼于1993年博士毕业），在1995-2005和2000-2005期间均名列第7位，是华人理论计量经济学家中在2000-2005期间的最高排名。
