请教这种情况可否用路径分析，多谢

本人的文章是研究一种疾病的风险因子的
论文原本使用的是generalized linear mixed model。
因变量为疾病的发生与否，因此是个binary variable。自变量为一系列的可能影响因子
在自变量中有个随机因子-国家，因为考虑到各个国家政策与卫生状况不同；其余自变量均为固定因子

文章投出去后，审稿人建议加入路径分析：
Comments to Author:
The referees make useful suggestions. A carefulcritical path analysis would make this paper much stronger.

自己大概看了一下路径分析，貌似也是建立在多元回归上的
这里想问的问题是
1：我这种0,1的二型因变量可否用路径分析？
2：这里的一个随机因子在路径分析中该如何处理？
3：如果上述问题可以解决的话，请问用哪个软件可以比较方便的解决。貌似看见论坛上不少人用AMOS

对于这种2值（0，1）的建模，其实更多的是用logistic regression. 当然，使用决策树（decision tree）的话也能比较直观的进行分组。

2种方法，都能用R来做。决策树的话，可以用rpart包。

多谢回答，原来用的generalized linear mixed model也算是logistic regression了
这个决策树算是path analysis不？
这个鬼审稿人建议用path analysis……

Based on your description, your original model (generalized linear mixed model) is correct. The reviewer's suggestion is inappropriate since the path analysis itself cannot make the cause and effect inference. You need to write an email to the editor to justify why your model (multilevel logistic model) is more appropriate than the path analysis. In addition, AMOS currently can only handle the continuous endogenous (dependent) variables, but yours in binary variable.

不一样的，一个是中介一个是调节。binary variable 用Mplus可以方便的处理

多谢您的回答。Mplus貌似版上就有这个软件呢
那么这个交互作用能不能在路径分析中表示出来呢？
原来用混合模型检测出来有这个交互作用（也是文章的hypothesis中就提出的），因此这个交互作用对文章来说很重要

There are different. For example, A->B->C. In it, A has an indirect effect on C.
A*B means the interaction effect.

For recursive path analysis, the coefficients can be calculated using regression models for every endogenous variable? And we can just put all regression coefficients on path diagram?

Yes, since the path analysis is a direct extension of multiple regression. You can run separate regression models to get the path coefficients.

A better way is to run just one structural equation model using AMOS or MPlus. In this way, you don't need to run separate regression models.

As you said, Amos currently can only handle continuous variables. Thus, I think I still need to calculate path coefficients seperately.

You are welcome. My above suggestion is just for the continuous endogenous/dependent variable. If the outcome variable is binary, it will be a different story. Please see the link below. http://www.nrhpsych.com/mediation/logmed.html . It provides the SPSS syntax at the end.

An easier way is to use Mplus.

You mean that the Mplus is able to handle binary response virable?

I once read a paper which suggests to use fully standardized coefficients in path analysis with binary response. But it doesnot tell which software can solve this.
