Hello everyone,
I have multilevel data with people at the between level and emotional reactions at the within level. I am interested in the covariation of
emotional states (within level) and how this covariation differs according to dispositional variables (between level).
I ran a within-person multilevel EFA and found a structure at the within level and between level. I understand how to interpret the within level
factors, but am having a hard time understanding what the between level structure tells me. your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Additionally, I am interested in how the within person structure varies between people and whether some dispositional (continuous) variables predict these differences. As a preliminary test I ran two multilevel EFAs by dividing the sample into two groups (high and low on dispositional variable) and I see meaningful hypothesised differences in structure between the two groups. However I don't know how to actually test if these differences are significant, and I would prefer not to split my continuous variable if that is possible.
Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated!
