大家好，我是新人，现在在滑铁卢大学数学系一年级，马上二年级要选择专业， 主要想选精算或者是风险管理，但是不知道选什么，精算滑铁卢很强，但是有很多人学这个让我感觉森多粥少，而且北美如加拿大精算位置也基于饱和，lz有打算回国工作的意向，而风险管理主要针对考cfa和prm两个方向，貌似找工作好找些，但是听学长说学的多而不精，所以lz也有些迷茫不知道选哪个比较好，兴趣方面感觉都差不，主要是想问这两个专业在4到5年之后的前景如何，以及对人才的需求，还有哪个的‘钱途更加光明，在中国也好在加拿大也好



精算不用多说，大家应该比较了解，听学长说许多学精算的最后厉害的都是到美国读MF的研究生了，稍微差一点的会去学统计的研究生，但是精算的知识浪费不少啊， 而且工作相对难找一些

Specializations

Starting in the third year, you’ll choose one of the following specializations:

Financial Analysis

Financial analysts use data and information in a company’s financial statements for valuation, credit risk assessment, management compensation, investment, and other economic decisions.

This program will also help you prepare for the highly desirable Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, administered by the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFAI).

Risk Management

Many of the business industry’s most sought-after positions require the mathematical and risk management skills that this program combines. The profile of risk managers is higher than ever, and their roles within the corporate structure are varied and interesting. The increasing focus on credit, operational, market and financial risk management means that graduates from this program will have a wide range of opportunities.

This program will help you to prepare for the popular PRM designation offered through the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA). Note: This designation may be completed during your undergraduate studies.

Risk Management is a more quantitative specialization than Financial Analysis, with a greater emphasis on mathematics coursework.
