新经济地理（NEG）内部的批判，要求建立多区域模型。因为两区域模型和多区域模型得到的结论是不一致的。

经济地理学（PEG）的批判，要吸收经济地理学对各种流（人流、信息流、商品流等）的研究，定义NEG交易成本的参数。

演化经济地理学（EEG）批判，均衡不是单个的、静止的，而是内生演化的。
