迈克·詹森，哈佛大学商学院企业管理名誉退休教授，是一位横跨金融经济学和企业管理学两方面的大师级教授。詹森生于1939年。1962年他获得马卡莱斯特学院经济学学士学位，1964年获芝加哥大学金融方向工商管理硕士学位。1968年获芝加哥大学经济学、金融学、会计学博士学位。
1977年詹森在罗彻斯特大学建立了管理经济学研究中心，并担任主任一职直至1988年。詹森于1973年创办了《金融经济学期刊。1994年他和法玛等人合作，创办了社会科学文库公司。1990年詹森当选美国财务学会副主席，1992年当选为主席。1991年他被选为西部经济国际联合会副主席，1993年被选为该组织主席。目前，他担任了《金融经济学期刊》的顾问、欧洲公司治理协会的理事、经济学研究中心的理事等等。
詹森在理财学方面的主要贡献是提出了代理成本学说。该学说融合了产权理论、代理理论、财务理论，系统的分析了在信息不对称的条件下的企业资本结构和组织结构问题。詹森和麦克林以及詹森和法玛、墨菲等人一系列关于代理成本的著作，突破了之前代理理论应用的狭小范围，将代理理论广泛地应用于公司理财和组织设计中，从而奠定了代理理论在现代公司财务理论中的基础地位。
詹森教授因其较高的学术造诣获得了许多荣誉。1979年3月，他与麦克林因《企业理论：管理行为、代理成本与所有权结构》一文荣获了芝加哥大学商学院首届“李奥.美兰德”杰出学者奖。1980年该论文被评为其所在领域引用次数最多的文献之一，并且被科学信息协会评为经典文献。1979年5月，《公司能继续存在吗》（他与麦克林合著）一文被财务分析学会评为1978年度最佳论文，并被授予“格雷汉姆和多德普雷克”奖。1984年波士顿大学授予他“杰西夫·高里芝·肖”奖章，以表彰其杰出的学术成就。1989年他的论文《公众公司的衰落》被《哈佛商务评论》评为89年度最佳论文，并被授予麦肯锡奖。1990年詹森教授被东部财务学会评为“年度学者”，。1996年他入选了美国文学科学研究院。
