the GPA calculation in US is different from CHina. A lot of the staff in the chinese university have no idea about what GPA is so they assume they know. It occured to me that, when I applied for universities, my previous Alma Mata transfers marks in this way: 4= 100, 3 = 90, 2= 80, 1= below 80. I ended up with less than 2. Luckily GPA was not that important as I was from a 211.
