China has offered a standard corporate income tax rate of 25% to all enterprises, including foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs), since January 1st 2008. In addition to the national corporate income tax, FIEs are also liable for taxes on passive income. Moreover, they are assessed for a number of indirect taxes, including value-added tax, business tax, consumption tax, and real property gains tax, as well as local taxes.
