
The China Investment Corp (CIC) and SAFE Investment Co are among the world's biggest sovereign wealth funds based on the quarterly list published by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute. CIC took the fourth spot in the ranking with assets of USD572.5bn while SAFE Investment Co cornered the fifth spot with USD567.9bn in assets. The latest rankings published by the institute showed that the Asia-Pacific region accounts for 40% of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, followed by the Middle East (35%) and Europe (17%). Norway's Government Pension Fund-Global took up the first spot in the recent global ranking with assets of USD818bn.
