一道习题:

a regression of average weekly earnings(AWE,measured in dollars) on age (measured in years) using a random sample of college-educated full-time workers aged 25-65 yields the following:

AWE=696.7+9.6Age,  R2=0.023,  SER=624.1

(A)

(G) given what you know about the distribution of earnings, do you think it is plausible that the distribution of errors inthe regression is normal?(Hint: do you think that the distribution is aymmetric or skewed? What is the smallest value of earnings and is it consistent with a normal distribution?)

More information (in (A)-(F)?) is needed to answer the question. "Given what you know about the distribution of earnings", indicates you have a plot of the AWE distribution?

Based on the small value of R^2 (only 2.3% variance explained by the model) and relatively large value of SER, the answer is probably a skewed distribution for the error terms.

没有了,A到F除了说到"the standard error of the coefficient value 9.6 is 100 ”,其余都是一些非常基础的概念性问题。

可能是我的英语不好,没能读懂这道题问的到底是什么?

麻烦大虾解答^_^
