EViews 9.5 is coming next month with Mixed-Data Sampling (MIDAS), a new econometric and statistical technique that will assist you in the analysis of data with different time frequencies.
• MIDAS - a method of estimating and forecasting from models where the dependent variable is recorded at a lower frequency than one or more of the independent variables. Traditional approaches to dealing with the issue of mixed frequencies simply aggregate the higher frequency data into the lowest frequency. For example, monthly data is summed to give a single quarterly value. MIDAS allows estimation without aggregation, giving more accurate results.
We’ve also made enhancements to the Model interface that will allow you to better organize and summarize your models. Additionally, you will be able to navigate equations better and you can safely protect your model when sharing it with others.
Here are the 5 enhancements to the Model object’s interface:
• Print View – Easily display the structure and relationships of the variables in your model.
• Scenario Descriptions – Add a comment/description to each scenario allowing you to keep track of each scenario’s purpose.
• Scenario View – Quickly display the settings and description of your scenarios.
• Lock Protection – Password protect your model to disallow editing of the model specification.
• Equation Finding – Search for equations by equation name, dependent variable name or by independent variable name.
These are just a few of the enhancements we have added to EViews 9.5. Any EViews 9 Single-User License will recieve a complimentary upgraded to EViews 9.5 upon release. Upgrade your older EViews license today to receive the great new features of EViews 9.5.
