问一下 potential outcome framework 是只能在因变量为dummy variable时进行吗，因变量若为continuous variable 是不是不能构成potential outcome  framework了？？

例如研究每周学习时间对成绩的影响，那么若要这个问题的potential outcome framework ，那是不是说一定要把每周学习成绩设为虚拟变量，比如D=1 表示学习时间大于17小时， D=0表示学习时间小于17小时。


而如果在model中将学习时间设置为continuous variable，那是不能写出potential outcome framework吗？
