Leximancer is a text analytics tool that can be used to analyse the content of collections of textual documents and to display the extracted information visually. The information is displayed by means of a conceptual map that provides a bird‟s eye view of the material, representing the main concepts contained within the text and information about how they are related. The map allows view the conceptual structure of the information, and to perform a directed search of the documents in order to explore instances of the concepts or their interrelations. In this way, Leximancer provides a means of quantifying and displaying the conceptual structure of a document set, and a means of using this information to explore interesting conceptual features. Apart from being a powerful content analysis tool, Leximancer can be used to provide a general overview of the content of textual documents and a means of exploring the text material in a directed fashion.
