World Business Environment Survey Surveys and data on business environment

The World Business Environment Survey, a project of the World Bank's Investment Climate and Institute Units, was administered to more than 10,000 firms in 80 countries in late 1999 and early 2000. Questions in the survey focused on the quality of the investment climate as shaped by domestic economic policy; governance; regulatory, infrastructure, and financial impediments; and assessments of the quality of public services.
