【说 明】
This June 2009 issue of OECD's twice-yearly OECD Economic Outlookprovides analysis of recent economic developments and economicprojections for OECD and major non-OECD countries through the end of2010. Its comprehensive statistical annex is a useful reference toolfor international economic comparisons. This issue finds that arecovery is in sight but that damage from the crisis is likely to belong-lasting.
OECD activity now looks to be approaching its nadir, following thedeepest decline in post-war history. The ensuing recovery is likely tobe both weak and fragile for some time. And the negative economic andsocial consequences of the crisis will be long-lasting. Yet, it couldhave been worse. Thanks to a strong economic policy effort an evendarker scenario seems to have been avoided. But this is no reason forcomplacency; the need for determined policy action remains across awide field of policies.
