Abstract：This paper constructs a matrix of the effects of the economy on military affairs and vice versa. Each cell of the matrix is filled with five research questions that either have not yet yielded conclusive answers, or only partial answers, or have barely been addressed at all in the literature. The paper thus constructs a useful research agenda for current and future students.
