Dear bbs0805, HLM dont permet to treat data. The only data that it permits are the output result for levels of estimation (errors, variables, coefficients and so on). You can fix the type of these output files in the menu (spss, stata ...). Hlm use external data essentially from spss format. i hope that this note is an answer to your question
