这是我们一道考题，答题时间是一个小时，也就是说相当于写出一篇小essay，可是关于derivatives的大多都是关于风险管理的啊，我实在不知道这教授到底要我们怎么个答题法。。。

1. Elucidate the processes whereby the existence of derivative markets for example in foreign currency renders credit markets more competitive.
2. in the light of your anser to 1, what are the main barriers to competition in banking

麻烦大家给个思路，尤其是第一问，第二问我倒是知道大概都有：Deposits were exogenous, barriers to entry, asymmetric information, 国有银行的垄断，branches的限制等，可我不明白它是怎么in the light of 1的。。。所以我强烈怀疑我第二题也想错了方向。。。
