Makoto Itoh is Professor Emeritus ofthe University of Tokyo, and a member of the Japan Academy.
He is the author of Value and Crisis (1980),The Basic Theory of Capitalism (1988), The World Economic Crisis and JapaneseCapitalism (1990), Political Economy for Socialism (1995), The Japanese EconomyReconsidered (2000), and a coauthor (with Costas Lapavitsas) of PoliticalEconomy of Money and Finance (1999).
