Rail transportation affects directly the grain industry in the State of Indiana and the farm supply industry which serves agriculture. Agriculture needs rail transportation to move huge quantities of farm products to export terminals, to the grain deficit of the South and Southeast and shorter hauls to grain processors in the region.
