I spent several days to study the Chapter 1-2, and I could understand the most part; however, some problems have confused me a lot.

For example, equation (2.29),  I thought the second part might be missing(while I could understand the equation (2.30), whose mechanism is identical to the equation 2.29), could anybody enlighten me? Thanks a lot!
