We can all sense the world changing. Over the past few months the global research team here at Standard Chartered has been thinking about what these changes means for the world over the next 20 years, to 2030. In our new Super-Cycle report we stake out our belief that we have entered a sustainable period of above-average growth, fed by rapid urbanisation and booming middle classes, this time led by the emerging markets. We highlight the implications the Super-Cycle has for the markets we operate in – we are big believers in many commodities, for instance, and we take an optimistic stance on the big issues, like global imbalances and climate change, which face us. We will be digging into more depth into many of the consequences over the next few months, but here is the report. Please feel free to contact the individual authors if any of the claims peak an interest.
