heckman的第二步是到底是一个truncation还是一个censor的过程？

heckman 用于sample selecting bias问题。也即tobin 2 模型。

举个例子，考察亚洲人勤劳的问题，就不能单用美国亚裔的样本，因为只有吃苦冒险精神的亚裔，才会自我选择（self selection）去美国.

heckman 解决的是sample selection或incidental truncation的问题（来自陈强老师的书P218）

但是我们运行heckman的stata程序时。程序会报告censored obs和uncensoredobs？heckman的第一步是一个choice的过程，第二步是到底是一个truncation还是一个censor的过程？如果是一个censor的过程，dependent variable应该会有很多角点解(比如0)，不是很多missing value啊？

In this case, it should be classified as truncation.

Actually, you can do it in two step. In the first step, you do a choice model with probit model; and in the second step you do a OLS regression with additional correct term namely inverse mills ratio in it.

It is called the incidental truncation. The truncation is determined by a non-random (self) selection process. Heckman shows that under normality assumption in a selection process, the truncation can be corrected with OLS in the second step by including a inverse mill's ratio from a probit model in the first step.

我明白你的意思，你意思第二步是一个non－random的truncation。
那heckman model跟tobit type 2 模型是一样的吧？我在某本中文书上见过，作者说这两个模型一致。

如果heckman model就是tobit type 2的话。我就不太明白了。
在Amemiya 的advanced econometrics的P384table10.3作者说tobit type2的第二步是一个censor的过程。
