The Role
As a Retirement Consultant you will apply your consulting, actuarial, and project management expertise in the areas of plan design, compliance and risk & financial management to Fortune 1000 and other not-for-profit organizations of similar size. You will help clients achieve their evolving business objectives by aligning their defined benefit, retiree welfare and defined contribution plans accordingly.
Given the size and complexity of our client portfolio, you will have the opportunity to support diverse projects related to mergers & acquisitions, asset liability studies, forecasting, benefits design and other special projects as needed.

Performance Objectives:
Clients
-> Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams
-> Serve as the day to day project lead, ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards
-> Serve as primary, daily contact to clients on delivery of services
Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Senior Consultants and Client Relationship Managers
Excellence
Provide value-added consulting expertise on retirement plan valuation, design, financial risk management and funding projects
Ensure clients are regularly informed about the implications and opportunities that changing laws and regulations have related to their retirement plans
Perform technical check of work products
Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches

-> Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team
-> Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing relationships
-> Directly contribute to clients’ success through applying your technical expertise

Serve as mentor to project team associates
The Requirements
- Experience and expertise delivering retirement and benefit consulting services
- A track record of performing core retirement work as well as the ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements
- Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
Demonstrated success or strong evidence to support new business generation
Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
An executive presence with polished and well developed oral and written communication skills
Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
Strong analytical and creative skills
Enjoys training/mentoring junior staff
The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges
Working knowledge of Excel, MS Project, MS Word
An undergraduate degree is required; Advanced degree preferred
Significant progress toward ASA and/or EA credentials (or local country equivalent) is preferred; FSA, CERA & CFA credentials (or local country equivalent) are encouraged and a major advantage
