1. OICA – The International Organisation of Motor Vehicle ManufacturersThe International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) was founded in 1919and currently gathers 36 trade associations around the world, including almost all majorautomobile manufacturing countries in Europe, America, Africa and Asia. OICA is the onlynon-governmental car and truck manufacturers’ organization accredited to the UnitedNations and represents the technical interests of the global auto industry in internationalinstitutions and organizations.The OICA activities contribute to the worldwide diffusion of technology, experience andknow-how, to the benefit of all countries. OICA coordinates the global harmonization ofvehicle regulations. The member associations are committed to the improvement of roadsafety and environmental protection, and they actively contribute to the global harmonizationof technical regulations and standards.OICA also collects and publishes international statistics and coordinates the yearly calendarof motor shows in its member countries.
