GameSec2012 – The Third Conference on Decision and Game Theory for Security
Budapest, Hungary, November 5-6, 2012 -- www.gamesec-conf.org
***
GameSec 2012, the Third Conference on Decision and GameTheory for Security, will take place in Budapest, Hungary, which is commonlyregarded as one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in Europe.
The conference will explore security as a multifaceted economicproblem by considering the complexities of the underlying technical infrastructure,and human and social factors. Securing resources involves decision making onmultiple levels and multiple time scales, given the limited resources availableto both malicious attackers and administrators defending networked systems.
The GameSec conference aims to bring together researcherswho are working on the theoretical foundations and behavioral aspects ofenhancing security capabilities in a principled manner. Previous GameSeccontributions included analytic models based on game, information,communication, optimization, decision, and control theories that were appliedto diverse security topics. In addition, we welcome research that highlightsthe connection between economic incentives and real world security, reputation,trust and privacy problems.
The conference is soliciting full and short papers on alleconomic aspects of security and privacy. Submitted papers will be evaluated basedon their significance, originality, technical quality, and exposition. Theyshould clearly establish the research contribution, their relevance to securityand privacy, and their relation to prior research. General theoreticcontributions are welcome if they discuss potential scenarios of application inthe areas of security and privacy.
Methodologies and topics of interest include (but are notlimited to):
* Game-theory and mechanism design
* Algorithmic mechanism design and approximation techniques
* Algorithms, protocols and allocation mechanisms
* Pricing and economic incentives
* Dynamic control, learning and optimization
* Empirical economic analyses and simulation studies
* Surveys and user studies with economic components
* Experimental economics
* Decision-making and decision-theoretic approaches
* Risk management approaches and case studies
* Measurement studies with economic relevance

SUBMISSION DETAILS
Prospective authors are encouraged to submit a PDF versionof their papers considering the maximum length requirements for full and shortpapers, respectively, and in a font no smaller than 10 points. Submissionsshould adhere to the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) format. Theconference language is English. Each submission should be previouslyunpublished work that is not currently under submission to another conference.
Full papers: Initial submissions are not to exceed 20 pagesincluding references and well-formatted appendices. Full papers should make astrong technical contribution and adequately highlight the novel aspects of thework in relation to related research.
Short papers: Submissions may present work in progress,novel applications and practice/industry experiences. Potential short paperswill be evaluated based on their novelty and potential for sparking discussionsand future collaborations. Short paper submissions are limited to 10 pages.
