Hong Kong. February’s retail sales likely remained robust, given the higher
consumption power of local consumers (p. 3).
Indonesia. Inflation moderates in March with slightly lower rice price, but
Jakarta flood is likely to affect external trade (p. 3).
Korea. Trade surplus likely to widen while inflation continues on recent
stability (p. 5).
Malaysia. Export prospects are likely to hover in low but steady gear but some
scope for modest pickup in 2H07 (p. 6).
Philippines. Headline inflation will hit rock bottom in March on the back of the
base effect, strong currency, and moderate demand pressures (p. 6).
Singapore. PMI probably drifted sideways with soft US new order readings and
a sluggish tech recovery (p. 7).
Taiwan. We estimate that headline CPI fell by 0.3% mom in March, mainly due
