之所以选择金融但没有选定具体的方向（窃以为自己知道金融是什么），有以下原因：
1. 想换一种生活方式，一种比较富有激情，有一定挑战性的生活方式；
2. 不想老是单搞技术，一个人应该还是要有些经济视点；
3. 也看过公司金融（公司财务）、金融工程（什么利率互换啊，期货啊）等等的内容，虽然理解还是比较肤浅，不过觉得都还是比较有意思（比我所学的机械制图、机械设计有意思多了），另外，换专业，肯定要慎重；所以公司金融、衍生品等方向应该认真考虑，考虑的因素有：我适合搞这些东西吗（惭愧，数学不是很强，特别是运算能力）？职业前景怎么样（这是个很现实的问题，除了少数人声称是仅仅为了学术、兴趣外，我想大部分人都会考虑的，我的要求很简单：至少不能太差，否则，对不住自己的付出，对不住家人的期待）？我所学的东西最好能跟以前所学/喜欢的东西（工程技术方法、计算机编程）有关。所以最近老是在犹豫。

are you seeking for under or graduate ? If under, you'd better equip comprehensive background, if graduate, you need to know the job but not the course. There is no job titled as corporate finance, ps it's totally diverted from your background. If you do financial engineering, I guess you won't fee it different from techinque. Actually those guys are called sharp smooth WallStreet engineers........So defend for yourself first or get out of the mess

金融工程在国家教委专业设置目录下就是属于管理科学与工程一级学科下设的二级学科，拿的是管理学学位。要想拿经济学学位就必须选择应用经济学下的金融学

I personall believe maths phd is better for FE.

同意楼上的看法，的确有一个金融数学专业可以拿到数学的学位，不过据我所知就连中科院数学与系统科学研究所的那帮人也自称研究的是金融工程而不是金融数学，所以在理解上可能有一些混乱
