所谓的“时间自由”和“假期”，大陆top10的经济系和商学院的年轻老师们，特别是在tenure track里的海归PhD们，有哪个不在拼命？假期就算了吧，不然六年后等着走人呢

Agree, same here. That is why I think academic career is good. A professor can work whenever she/he wants to work, as much as she/he wants. The winter and summer breaks are her/his own. In US, working at home is very popular. If the professor is a mom, she can take care of her kids and work mean while. Plus good social security and medical care. Different schools have different package. It is very hard to be a professor at a top school for the demanding publication requirement. However, those professors at top schools earn handsome salary and have a lot of opportunities to work for industry as well.

我们每个月也就两三千，加上津贴课时费什么的就多些了。如果全年所有收入平均到每个月只有两三千，那确实太少了……我在河南，非省会城市。

说得难听一点，有本事、有更好出路的话谁会当老师呢？
换句话来说，当老师大多是无奈的选择，毕竟要生活。

高校教师总体是不错的，桃李满天下的学生，可以搞一些自己感兴趣的研究，而且假期比较长，工资待遇可以过得去，希望老师们既照亮学生前行的路，又照亮自己生活的路，二者兼而有之。
