我觉得是10,因为机会成本指的是将资源用于某种用途而放弃的可用于其他用途所能获得的最大收入。现在资源是时间,joan只能去一个音乐会,他去monkey的音乐会的机会成本就是他出席patrol的音乐会所能获得的效用,所以这个机会成本是50,但是现在patrol的音乐会票是可以转让的,所获得的收益是票面价格40。所以只损失10。机会成本就是10了

The opportunity cost is 10.

If Joan goes to the Artic Monkeys’concert, he will give up the consumer surplus which he can get from Snow Patrol concert. However the consumer surplus is his willingness to pay (50) minus the ticket's price (40).

我觉得是40,虽然Joan愿意为Snow Patrol支付的一个主观效用为50,但是那是在没有其他选择机会时的一个价格,而现在Joan的情况时, 如果Joan选择去Artic Monkeys’concert,她就不能去Snow Patrol,也就不用支付40元的票价。机会成本就是在选择了一个决策时,所丧失的次优决策能够给你带来的效用水平,它是你可选择的并且能够用货币计量的成本,虽然可以不用实际支付。

机会成本应该跟消费者剩余没有关系吧,不知道。

 I also hold the opinion that the opportunity cost is 40.

 For the willingness of pay of the  Snow Patrol concert and the Artic Monkeys’concert are the same--- 50, that is to say, she gets the same ulility from them.if  she gives up Artic Monkeys’concert to go to Snow Patrol concert, she has to pay 40 instead of paying nothing. So I think opportunity cost is 40.
